The eConsultations Platform: Empowering Public Participation in Regulatory Processes

Established in 2021 and updated in September 2024, the eConsultations platform is an innovative electronic tool by the Government of the Republic of Serbia designed to enhance public engagement in the preparation and adoption of regulations and planning documents.

The platform provides a centralized, user-friendly system where interested parties can access and review draft laws, regulations, and planning documents from various public bodies.

State administrative bodies are required to publish comprehensive information about consultations and public hearings on this platform, offering a chronological overview of ongoing regulatory processes. While autonomous provinces and local governments are not mandated to use the platform, it serves as a critical resource for citizens and organizations seeking to stay informed and contribute to policy-making.

Registered users can benefit from additional features, including the ability to submit comments and select specific fields of interest for notifications. Registration can be completed using a qualified electronic certificate or the ConsentID mobile app. By providing transparent access to draft regulations and facilitating public input, the eConsultations platform represents a significant step towards more inclusive and participatory governance.
