Partner Nikola Poznanovic, Head of Competition at JPM, has advised I.KOM, one of the largest companies in cable TV, broadband internet and telephone industry in Serbia, on competition law aspects during the takeover by its competitor SBB.
The Commission for Protection of Competition has conditionally approved the takeover, imposing the following requirement on SBB:
- to sell its secondary network infrastructure in Belgrade in instances where there are overlaps in infrastructure owned by SBB and I.KOM.
- for the period of 2 (two) years following the acquisition to report to the Commission any change of retail prices for media content services in its basic service package.
- to offer existing I.KOM subscribers either the fixed-term or the ongoing SBB service package.
