New Bylaws in the Field of Occupational Safety and Health

The Republic of Serbia's Ministry of Labour introduced two new occupational safety and health regulations effective April 2025.

The first updates record-keeping requirements, reducing forms from 14 to 11, specifying retention periods (40 years for most, 6 years for equipment inspections, and exposure-based timelines for hazardous substances), and permitting electronic storage except for training records. The second regulation defines work at height (e.g., scaffolding, roofs), mandates technical measures to avoid such work, requires protective equipment and risk assessments, and obligates employers to issue detailed work permits, ensure medical fitness, and provide training for affected workers. Both regulations replace prior rules, emphasizing enhanced safety protocols and compliance.
