In the absence of clear guidance in Europe in the field of personal data processing for scientific purposes, processing of personal data by IMGGI and advising of our partner becomes even more challenging. Processing of personal data in biobanks, i.e. implementation of concepts of “broad” and “dynamics” consent, possibility for data subjects to withdraw their consent for processing of personal data intended to be further processed (Article 17 (2) b) of GDPR), adequate legal ground/s for further processing for special categories personal data for scientific purposes, interpretation of legal formulation in Art 89 (2) of GDPR “in so far as such rights are likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of the specific purposes”, are just some of the issues which make compliance of this industry with data protection principles inspiring. To this extent, it is our pleasure that our attorneys at law continue playing key roles in legal services markets.
