JPM’s Ivan Milosevic and Andrea Cvetanovic participated in Data Protection Conference “BvD-Herbstkonferenz & Behördentag” in Mannheim, Germany, on October 14-16, 2020, under the title “Datensammeln – mobil – international – legal(?)” (https://www.bvdnet.de/termin/online-bvd-herbstkonferenz-datenschutz-und-behoerdentag-2020/ ).
Our GDPR Team had the honor to take part in the conference following an invitation from Dr. Stefan Brink, the Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, and was the only participant from Southeast Europe.
The conference was an excellent opportunity for sharing experiences with European data protection practitioners.
To name some of the topics discussed by Ivan and Andrea:
- are biological samples personal data;
- which anonymization technics are most adequate;
- broad consent as the legal ground for the processing of genetic data;
- compatibility of further processing of personal for scientific research with the previous purpose.
JPM is looking forward to new professional challenges to promote data protection practices.
