This year marks the eight edition of the corporate law case study – Big Deal project and its fourth edition with an international element, organized by JPM in cooperation with the leading regional law offices from TLA Top-tier Legal Adriatic.
From May to the end of November, when the finals took place, experienced lawyers from Serbia and the region transferred their knowledge and experience to students while helping them go through the preparation and execution of an M&A transaction as quickly and as easily as possible.
Big Deal semi-finals and finals were held on November 29 and 30 in Belgrade. Out of five teams that competed this year, teams from Ljubljana and Kragujevac qualified to the finals. University of Ljubljana Law School team is the 2018 competition winner.
The best competitors from each team were awarded a three-month practice in law offices, members of the TLA organization, with the possibility of employment.
The project has shown to be extremely attractive for students, primarily because of the exchange of experiences, but also thanks to many friendships made during the project. The students gained practical experience that will be valuable to them in their future career, working in one of the law offices or companies in which they will start their professional careers.
